In today’s society our children are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.
At Coupe Green we deliver a child centered curriculum which develops children’s understanding of healthy, respectful relationships, focusing on family and friendships, in all contexts, including online. This sits alongside the essential understanding of how to be healthy.
To support the delivery of this essential learning, we use Kapow learning scheme, which supports teacher’s planning and provides high quality resources. At Coupe Green we understand the sensitive nature of some content and ensure that what we deliver is rooted in scientific understanding, whilst giving children opportunities to share their views, feelings and concerns. We believe that parents and carers are also vital educators for children on many of these matters.
Our school policy has been developed in consultation with staff, pupils and parents. Please see below the results of our parental questionnaire.
