Welcome to Ash Class

In Ash Class we are settling into life as Juniors.  We have 25 keen to learn pupils who are being taught by two experienced and talented teachers, Miss Wilkinson and Mrs Dowbekin.

What have we been up to?

Our current topic is Spies.  We have given ourselves a code name and designed our very own spy. We have started looking at different types of puppets in order to design, make and sew a spy puppet.

In English, we have been reading a mystery story about secret agent, Jack Stakuart, who has to solve the case of the missing crown jewels! We have created questions that we would like to ask Jack and will be getting lots more ideas from the book to write our own mystery story.

In Maths, we are starting to look at place value by reading, writing and ordering numbers. We have then used our knowledge to compare numbers. We will then see if we can turn our numbers into Roman numerals for numbers up to 12! We will begin to use written methods to solve addition and subtraction problems, including column addition and subtraction.

In line with the new homework policy, Ash class will have a selection of English and Theme homework activities that need to be completed over the half term.  Homework is due in at the end of the half term. The children will also be practising their times tables and using Bug Club at home.

Spelling homework will continue to follow a two week cycle based on an investigation and a list of spelling words to practise for week.
