Homework

In line with the new homework policy, Ash class will have a selection of English and wider curriculum homework activities that need to be completed over the half term.  Homework is due in at the end of the half term. The children will also be practising their times tables on a weekly basis and are encouraged to read their book at home.

Spelling

Spelling homework will continue to follow a two week cycle based on an investigation and a list of spelling words to practise for week.

What have we been up to?

We are currently learning about volcanoes. We are identifying the different parts and looking at why they erupt. We are also learning about how animals and humans move and survive.

English

In English, we have been reading an adventure story called The Last Bear. It takes us on an adventure through the Artic and through friendship. In our writing we have been focusing on the wonderful story of Blue Umbrella.

Maths

In Maths, we are starting to look at place value by reading, writing and ordering numbers. We have then used our knowledge to compare numbers.  We will begin to use written methods to solve addition and subtraction problems, including column addition and subtraction. Times Table Rock Stars will be used weekly for homework, so please support your children accessing this each week.
