This half term, in Acorn Class, the children have been busy learning about their theme ‘Once Upon a Time’. They have been sharing a range of fairy tales including ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’, baking their own gingerbread houses, creating a raft that floats to help the Gingerbread Man get across the river, tasting lots of different fruits and toppings to put on their own bowl of porridge, like Goldilocks, and making their own fairy tale character shadow puppet!

To celebrate all their hard work and conclude their learning, Acorn Class will be having a special Theme Day on Wednesday 7th February, holding their own magical Fairy Tale Ball. The children will be writing invitations to their class mates, preparing and making their own royal snacks and designing and making their very own crowns to wear to the party in the afternoon! If the children would like to, they may come dressed up in character ready to attend the Fairy Tale Ball. They may want to come as their favourite princess, prince, king, queen, or character such as the Gingerbread Man or Bear from Goldilocks. If they do not want to dress up in character, they could wear their favourite party clothes.

We ask that each child brings a small party plate of food to eat at the party in the afternoon. The children will have had their normal dinner at lunch time, so will not need a large amount of food. We kindly ask that all plates are disposable, covered and named to help prevent any confusion. It is going to be a brilliant day and we can’t wait to see what characters will be attending the ball!
